Wellness Workshops & Classes


We often leave a healthcare provider’s office with suggestions of what we need to do or need to change to feel better. However, doing things differently is often easier said than done. This is where we come in.

The workshops and series classes at Healthwise integrate mind-body education with practice so that you can “learn by doing.” Not only do we provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills, but our studio space allows for active learning (practice). Our studio offers an opportunity for you to learn mind-body skills that can help you to better manage difficult emotions, ward off stress, calm your anxiety, tame your inner narrator and boost your mood.

As evidence-based practice is at the core of our services, our focus is on skill building that works. Our workshops will teach you what to do and how to do to it. You are supported and guided as you create the change you need.

Our Workshops & Classes

Prenatal Yoga

Dates: 2/18/19 - 3/18/19 | Time: 6:45 pm - 8:00 pm

Instructor: Laura Honeck

Join Laura Honeck (RYT, RPYT, DONA trained birth and post partum doula) for 75 minutes of strength building, birth preparation and total bliss. No experience is needed for this all-level class which focuses on connecting with your incredible body and the baby in your belly. We'll build endurance and move organically while preparing the body for birth and the emotional marathon of motherhood that exists beyond labor. At the center of this class is breath and an attitude of gratitude. All levels of experience and pregnancy welcome. Props, tea and aromatherapy provided. This class is for women only.

From Worrier to Warrior: Letting Go of Stress

Come join Wendy Lotter, Master Meditation Instructor, as she compassionately walks you through where worry comes from and how it impacts your life. Then move into practices to release the worry. There will be education and guidance, group discussion, meditations, and journaling. You will leave with a better understanding of how to release fear-based thought patterns and move into joy. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a notebook and pen. Ages 16+ welcome.

Anxious to Awesome

Everyone experiences feelings of stress and worry at times. When it begins to get in the way of your daily routine and compromises quality of life, it’s time to take action. Missing school because of worry-induced tummy aches and head aches, not joining in social activities due to anxious feelings and dealing with sleepless nights is no way to live!

If this is true for you, you are not alone. Worry and stress are among the biggest concerns for kids today. Learn to root out the cause of anxious feelings with fun, easy-to-use tools ~ and keep those worries away. Kids ages 8-12 will learn simple, fun and effective tools using aromatherapy, Yoga therapy and iRest Yoga Nidra (deep guided relaxation).

New Habits, Better Life! Break the Stress Cycle! Join Wendy Lotter, Master Meditation Instructor, for this 3-week comprehensive journey into stress reduction. Only through disruption and change of habits(revolution) can we expect to create improvement and a higher sense of self(evolution) in our lives. This course allows for more detailed explanation and practice of techniques in-session. The student will have real-time instructor access for questions and concerns while learning techniques. You will also learn how to turn compassion inward, you do deserve it!

It's Element-ary! Yoga Camp (Ages 8-12)

Travel from Earth to Space in the most amazing ship of them all—your body! The journey through the universe can be rough, but knowing how your ship operates can make the trip a lot easier! It’s Element-ary! will help kids deepen self awareness and expand confidence while playfully examining the five elements that make up the universe. Each day we will explore a new element (earth, water, fire, air, ether) with breathing techniques, yoga postures, mudras (hand gestures) and relaxation strategies. Cooperative games, creative expression, music and stories will round out each day. Your child will discover what they need to operate their ships at optimal speed in order to feel healthy and well balanced. No previous yoga experience necessary. For kids ages 8-12.
