Betty Christensen

Registered Yoga Teacher

Betty Christensen, RYT

Registered Yoga Teacher

Betty believes in the many benefits of yoga - from calming the mind and body through movement and breath, to learning to live in the present moment through meditation, to understanding the importance of restful awareness through a restorative yoga practice.

She has always been physically active - from biking, swimming, teaching step classes, and keeping active in her garden - as well as working in the corporate world for 35 years. But yoga was an entirely new form of "exercise" that engaged mind, body and spirit - it fulfilled her desire for physical exercise and at the same time helped to ground her for the changes life constantly offers us.

Betty currently teaches various yoga formats including Hatha, Restorative, Trauma Sensitive, and Chair yoga - offering a meditation at the end of each class. She also is a volunteer instructor at Gilda's House - a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide an emotional, social and psychological support community for everyone living with or affected by cancer. Guided by compassion and an inner spirit, Betty seeks opportunities to serve others in a heartfelt and mindful manner through a compassionate and gentle yoga practice.

Laura Honeck

Registered Yoga Teacher

Laura Honeck, RYT

Registered Yoga Teacher

Laura is a student, teacher, and mother who has grown in kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity through her study and practice of Yoga.

As a student of Yoga, Laura uncovers and expands her understanding of herself and her purpose in the world. She is grateful to the Minnesota masters who have guided her in this process: Tanya Boigenzahn (Devanadi Yoga), Indu Aurora (Yogsadhana), Chanti Tacoronte Perez (Yantra Wisdom), Sarah Longacre (Blooma), Jennifer Gray (Yoga Center Retreat), Matthew Sanford (Mind Body Solutions), Mira Binzen (Global Family Yoga).

As a teacher, Laura shares the tools of Yoga—physical postures, breathwork, meditation, guided relaxation, energy work—and the wisdom of Ayurveda to cultivate an individual client’s or whole-class intention. Laura skillfully tailors these tools to bridge the gap between modern medicine and ancient wisdom for women looking to support their health and their families with holistic self care. She is equally comfortable creating an engaging practice for five year olds and their parents as she is developing empowering, inspirational classes for women preparing to birth.
